My scriptwriting work includes videos and virtual reality experiences for Dell Computers, TapInfluence, Abbott Laboratories, Autodesk, Bosch, and Microsoft.
I believe a little entertainment can go a long way. With my video and VR work, I’ve endeavored to explain complex and obscure topics in engaging and entertaining ways. I strive to ensure viewers can easily digest and understand the subject, regardless of knowledge level.
Virtual Reality
Challenge: To educate potential customers on the benefits of Bosch Envision windshield wiper blades in a fresh and engaging way.
Solution: Seeing is believing. My script puts the viewer in the driver’s seat — literally — as they experience the dangers of driving on a rainy night with inadequate wiper blades and the difference Bosch Envision blades can make.
Video
Challenge: To explain the purpose of generative design, a complex and somewhat esoteric new product design solution which uses machine learning software to augment human designers.
Solution: My script used simple language and engaging graphics to explain the process and contrast it against traditional design processes.
Challenge: To clearly demonstrate the power and potential of additive manufacturing through imagery.
Solution: My script tied together several vignettes demonstrating various use-cases in an eye-catching, abstract style with a minimum of text.
Challenge: To concisely explain the treatment options for coronary artery disease in a fun and informative manner.
Solution: My script used the visuals of a doctor’s prescription pad and medical textbooks to take the viewer through the various options available to coronary artery disease patients.
Challenge: To teach viewers what the strategic planning methods known as “foresight” are and why they matter for UNICEF’s work.
Solution: I worked with the client and animator to come up with an eye-catching style to engage the viewer and used my own research into Foresight methodologies to come up with a satisfactory explanation short enough to be delivered in a mere 60 seconds.
